Humpty Done Dumptied,
A Cute Kid's Campfire Story

Humpty Dumpty sat
on the wall
In Dinosaur Valley
State Park I recall.
Eating jelly beans
while watching the Milky Way,
The stars were so
bright there in the open bay.
Humpty watched the
sky as he ate all his loot
Then wiped his hands
on his good Sunday suit.
His jelly beans
all eaten, the bag suddenly empty,
He tossed it to
the ground, and it landed beside me.

I gave Humpty a
glance and a shake of my head,
And then I looked
him in the eye and then I said,
"Humpty, either
pick up the liter and throw it away,
Or you're going
to get a ticket for dumping today."

Humpty gazed at
my hat, and my shirt with the tag
That told him I
was a Park Ranger holding the bag.
He hopped off the
wall, my orders he did heed,
And Humpty picked
up the trash that Humpty done dumptied.

The park is now
clean under the stars of the sky
And Humpty Dumpty
is a much wiser guy.
