Health Benefits of Pet Owners 'Our pets bring us hours of enjoyment, asking very little in return: a warm home, food, love, and a comforting word every now and then. However, they give so much in return! In fact, studies indicate that pet owners are receiving some excellent health benefits from their pets. When you think about your pet, you probably get a warm and fuzzy feeling. All that 'fuzzy' translates to some pretty awesome information regarding how it effects your health. Pet owners are less likely to feel lonely. To a person living alone, a pet can be a very important companion. The big plus is that the pet never argues nor does it criticize its master. To a couple, a pet can play an intricate part in the relationship as kids fade from home. We have all heard the downside of how pets can effect people with allergies. The upside is that if you own a pet, chances are that you visit your doctor less frequently than a non-pet owner. You may also use less medication. In addition, you probably have lower cholesterol as well as lower blood pressure. If you undergo surgery, odds are that you will recover quicker than a non-pet owner will. The same applies to illnesses. Pets are great outlets when it comes to providing comfort. Our little pets are very instrumental in lifting our spirits, reducing stress, and filling us with joy - all of which plays a very vital role in our overall health. So take time out, enjoy some free time with your pet. Who knows - these simple, fun moments may actually add years to your life!
