From possum care to wild bird care, you'll find
it under the umbrella of Wild Critter Care! Tom
coined our site motto, and caring for unwanted, injured
and abandoned critters is our humble attempt to have
one nobel cause in life.
Turtle Rescue or Turtle Trouble?
A kind friend of ours 'thought' she rescued a turtle. She
returned it to the water's edge, not realizing that the animal had
spent days trying to get away from the water so that it could lay
its eggs.
Many
times kind people try to help these type critters and end up doing
more damage than good. Unless you know otherwise, the
best thing that you can do whenever your path crosses
an orphaned, wounded or lost critter is to seek professional assistance.
This may mean finding a park ranger, contacting animal control or
calling your vet's office for some savvy know-how. There
are other reasons why you should avoid handling wild critters:
you may get bit
you may become exposed to a dangerous disease such as rabies
you may put your scent on the critter and it's mother will no longer
lay claim
you may be taking an animal away from its natural environment as
its parent views, secretly hidden in the brush or rocks

page to navigate to articles featuring our Wild Critter
Care rescues. You'll also run into information on how
to care for wild critters in emergency situations.
Thank you for caring for wildlife and
making our world a little bit kinder. Although animals
were here first, man'kind' rules. By doing something
as simple as feeding the birds, you're doing a big part
to help keep the Circle of Critters unbroken.
